The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, expressed his reaction to the recent statement of former US President Donald Trump about the need to conclude a "fair agreement" to end the war in Ukraine. This statement became a topic of discussion in international circles and caused some controversy.
"Trump said some time ago that he would need 24 hours, now the wording is different. We will welcome any initiatives that will lead to the desired result. And there can be only one result - the settlement of this problem based on the elimination of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis," Lavrov said.
In this context, he called on Trump to facilitate the repeal of the laws adopted by Kyiv on Ukrainianization and the de facto ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
"If Mr. Trump succeeds in repealing these laws that we are talking about, it will already be a step forward. It's easier than ever to do this - take it and vote," Lavrov said.
