The Louvre, the largest and most popular museum in the world, begins a large -scale reconstruction, which aims to improve the conditions for visitors and provide better conditions for demonstrating one of the largest cultural values in the world - the paintings of Mona Lisa Leonardo da Vinci.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that as part of the museum reconstruction, a separate hall would be created, especially for the famous painting "Mona Lisa". This will not only better present the picture, but also provide comfortable conditions for those who want to enjoy a masterpiece without crowds.
To reduce the overload of visitors, a second entrance will also be opened in the Louvre. This step will distribute the flow of tourists and significantly reduce the load on the traditional entrance through the famous glass pyramid. To do this, a competition for the development of the concept of new entrance was announced.
In addition, the reconstruction involves the modernization of the museum's infrastructure: toilets, restaurants, as well as recreation areas to provide visitors with maximum comfort while staying in the museum.
The New Renaissance Project provides a large -scale reconstruction, which will include not only the improvement of museum spaces, but also the change in the appearance of the Louvre. The Esplanade Palace is planned to be turned into a park, which will become part of the general plan of the city authorities for the landscaping of Paris. It will also allow the museum to integrate into the urban environment and make it more accessible to Paris.
The reconstruction will cost hundreds of millions of euros, but Macron emphasized that funding will not be received from the state budget, but will be covered by revenues from the sale of tickets, donations and agreements with the Louvrom in Abu Dhabi. All work should be completed by 2031, while the museum will continue to work even during reconstruction.
This large -scale reconstruction of the Louvre is an important event for France and aims not only to improve the conditions for tourists, but also to create new opportunities for preserving and demonstrating the world cultural masterpieces.
