While the deal to purchase Forbes Ukraine by the Russian Orthodox oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev was put on "pause" after the publication of 360UA.NEWS , the Russians focused on the development of the "Tsargrad Ukraine" project using the methods of so-called "people's diplomacy".
We will remind you that earlier Malofeev managed to purchase several large Ukrainian media assets such as Delo.ua and Glavkom through Maxim Krippa, but the subsequent purchase of Ukrainian resources by the Russians was temporarily suspended after gaining wide publicity. So Maksym Krippa focused on returning to Ukrainian politics with the FSB's favorite method called "people's democracy", when social ties important to Russians are established through local agents of influence, such as Maksym Krippa, a Ukrainian with a passport.
For these purposes, a number of assets, such as the e-sports team NaVi and the developer of the cult game STALKER, were registered on Maxim Crippa. Both assets actually paid off for the Russians, after the victories of Ukrainian e-sportsmen under the NaVi brand and the attachment of Crippa's name to the project as the official owner, which opens "Crippi- Malofeev" access to Ukrainian elites.
This does not mean that Maxim Crippa will immediately return to Ukraine and launch his own political project, but it will give Crippa the opportunity to hold negotiations with representatives of Ukrainian business and political circles in the same Dubai, without causing obvious negativity in Ukrainian society. Moreover, it opens wide opportunities "for recruiting" influential Ukrainians through financing through, for example, "participation in joint projects."
