Sea Drones Saildrone recorded Russian "shadow" ships during NATO's exercises

Saildrone has successfully completed the demonstration of the capabilities of its unmanned seawater Saildrone Voyager during the exercises of NATO X Operations Group in the Baltic Sea. The maneuvers were held from 16 to 27 June 2025 and were aimed at testing the work of drones in combat.

Throughout the exercise period, Sildrone sea drones monitored hundreds of ships daily, identifying potentially dangerous objects. In particular, they managed to identify the conditional enemy, as well as identify real goals - among them were ships of the so -called "shadow fleet" of Russia and military vessels.

The unmanned devices were monitored by the Gulf and the western part of the Baltic Sea. They continued to work even during storms and at waves of more than two meters high. This proved the ability of drones to work in complex weather conditions, similar to the conditions of the Bering Sea, where Saildrone has experience in eight years. The key achievement of exercises was the integration of unmanned systems with active maritime operations of allies. Saildrone Voyager was equipped with a powerful farm radar and a modern observation system. Thanks to this, the devices could quickly identify threats at a long distance and transmit real -time data. During the mission, the international team of pilots cooperated closely with the NATO Naval Command, which allowed us to perform a wide range of tasks promptly. Representatives of Saildrone emphasized that the Baltic Sea in terms of depth and weather is similar to other regions where their drones are already active.

The founder of the company Richard Jenkins noted that participating in the NATO Task Force X initiative was an important step for the integration of autonomous systems into modern naval operations. According to him, Saildrone Voyager confirmed his readiness to perform the task in a real threat.
