The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhiy, said that the preparations for the second peace summit continue, and its prerequisite will be the document developed based on the results of nine conferences devoted to the peace formula of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. According to his statement, this document will be ready in November.
During August and October, nine thematic conferences were held, where various aspects of the peace formula were discussed. Each meeting ended with the adoption of a joint communiqué, which reflects the common positions of the participants regarding the goals and principles of the peace formula. The developed documents provide a solid basis for finalizing the general framework and mechanism for a peaceful settlement, which will be presented at the second summit.
Tykhi also noted that the prepared joint peace document will be a key condition for holding a successful summit aimed at bringing a just and lasting peace closer to the principles of the UN Charter. Ukraine is ready to invite representatives of Russia to the event, if it will help to achieve an effective result.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the goal of Ukraine is not to create a protocol event, but to organize a meaningful and effective summit that will really bring a just peace closer. At the same time, the specific dates of the summit were not named. Tychy explained that this could harm the negotiations and the position of Ukraine, so the exact time of the event has not yet been announced.
