In Serbia, against the background of long protests in the city of Novi Sad, an attack was attacked by the Minister of Culture of the country Nicola Slakovich. The official suffered serious injuries - he has broken his nose and was sent to the medical center for scanning the head for possible internal damage.
According to journalists, the Minister of Justice Maya Popovich said that the attack occurred in the Belgrade Center. Authorities have associated an incident with massive street protests that have been ongoing in the country for about five months.
Protests broke out after the tragedy that happened on November 1, 2024 in the new-garden. Then 15 people were killed at the railway with a concrete canopy at the railway station. The catastrophe took place only four months after the reconstruction of the building, which was spent 16 million euros. Protest participants accuse the authorities of corruption and demand to punish the perpetrators under the articles of "murder" and "corruption".
Mass demonstrations swept the country, and on March 7, a new protest march was held in the new-Sad, which was joined by a large number of citizens. Students called for a general strike and demanded a court of country leaders.
Against the backdrop of protests at the end of January, Prime Minister Serbia Milos Vuchevich resigned. He headed the new-garden from 2012 to 2022, which exacerbated the situation in society.
