NATO plans to recruit additional brigades and increase air defense

NATO plans to attract an additional from 35 to 50 brigades to implement its new protective strategies due to potential threat from Russia. This step was a response to a significant challenge for the Alliance, which arose in connection with geopolitical events, in particular the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

In addition, Germany will have to significantly increase its air defense defense capabilities four to meet the new NATO requirements. This need has become obvious after viewing the Alliance's positions on the threat of Russian attack, said sources in the security field.

NATO intends to review its defense plans at the International Summit, which will take place this week in Washington on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Alliance. The Alliance officials noted that the main priorities are an increase in the military capacity necessary for the effective implementation of defense strategies.

The German Ministry of Defense has refused to comment on NATO plans because they are secret.
