NATO is considering deploying more nuclear weapons because of threats from Russia and China

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced the Alliance's intention to consider the possibility of placing additional nuclear armed systems in connection with increasing geopolitical threats from Russia and China.

This statement was made in an interview with The Telegraph, where Stoltenberg emphasized the need for NATO to demonstrate its nuclear potential as a means of curbing potential opponents.

Consultations were conducted between the members of the Alliance. They concerned the withdrawal of rockets from the storage facility and moving them into standby as a "restraining factor".

"I will not go into operational details about how many nuclear warheads should be in working order and which to be stored, but we need to consult on these issues. This is exactly what we do," Stoltenberg said.

He also expressed concern that China also exacerbates the nuclear component, and will soon be dealing with the two largest nuclear powers - the Russian Federation and the PRC.

Recall that Russia and Belarus are now conducting tactical nuclear training.
