Germany has announced their intention to strengthen the rules for social assistance, including Ukrainian refugees who fled from the war. This decision is caused by increasing pressure on the social system of the country, as well as the need to ensure stability for new refugees waves.

Among the measures that should come into force on January 1, 2025, a reduction in the amount of assistance (BürgerGeld) by 30 percent within three months in the event of a reasonable employment proposal.

It will be considered the norm if the road to the proposed work and back takes up to three hours a day. In addition, those who will miss the appointment at the employment center will threaten a 30 percent reduction in social payments by one month.

The changes were initiated by the Minister of Labor Hubertus Hile, the publication notes, the measures are called to stimulate the recipients of financial assistance to go to work.

It will not do without "gingerbread" - for those who, after receiving the BürgerGeld, got a job and worked for at least a year, a bonus of thousands of euros is provided.
