Germany opposes the placement of American missiles

In Germany, the discussion was aggravated by the decision to accommodate the American missiles of the far radius of action in its territory. This issue became the subject of hot debate after the NATO summit fields have been reached an agreement to return US weapons to Germany since 2026. In particular, some German parliamentarians have expressed their concern about the possible consequences of this step to relations with Russia.

In the NATO summit fields, the Government of Germany and the United States agreed that since 2026 the US weapon of the long range of action will be re -arranged in Germany. However, for some members of the Parliament, this decision was made too quickly, writes Rheinische Post.

The solution applies only to ordinary, non -nuclear weapons. Chancellor Olaf Soltz defended his deployment plans, citing increased threat from Russia and the need for deterrent. However, critics point out that the US weapon of the long range can be equipped with nuclear warheads, which will increase the potential for exacerbation of relations with Russia.

The co -chair of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union Amir Mohammed Ali said: “Of course, Scholt was not supposed to bypass Parliament to make such a far -reaching decision. In the end, it is a step that actually increases the risk of war for Germany. " She also emphasized: “The placement of American missiles of the far radius in Germany is another step towards increasing military tension. This is an extremely dangerous course that the German government has to give up. ” Part of the SPD is also critical of the placement of rockets.

The CDU expert Vadeful, on the contrary, considers the deployment of the necessary response of NATO to the existing threat from Iskander missiles located in Russia in the Kaliningrad region.

“This poses a direct threat to Germany and potentially limits our ability to political action. In this respect, we must welcome the planned deployment, ”Vadeful said.
