Haltbakk Bunkers made an unprecedented solution to the Norwegian fuel company: to refuse to supply fuel for US military vessels. The reason for this step was the outrage of US President Donald Trump and Vice President Jay Vice.
After meeting Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, who, according to many, turned into a "treacherous show", Haltbakk Bunkers published a statement on Facebook, which condemned the actions of American leaders. The owner of Gunnar Gran stressed that they are "governed by a moral compass" and can elect customers on their own. The company also called on other European suppliers to follow their example. Some Americans have accused Haltbakk Bunkers of "disrespect", but when asked what the United States did for Norway, did not give answers. Others supported the company's decision, calling the events in the White House "shameful shit show". After a wave of discussions, the company's post on Facebook disappeared - it was removed or hidden.
The owner of Gunnar Gran has confirmed in the comments of the Norwegian edition of KYSTENS NæRingsliv that there will be no liters of fuel for the US until Trump is over. Previously, the company also stopped supplying fuel for Russian ships after invasion of Ukraine, despite financial losses. The ban operates immediately and covers all US military vessels that go to the ports of Norway.
