The recent news from the German political front were quite interesting when German Chancellor Olaf Soltz spoke about his latest contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Chancellor, they suddenly spoke for a long time before the full -scale war.
The German Chancellor had previously been in contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, as it turned out, they have not communicated for over a year. He told about it for Märkische Allgemeine.
According to him, the last telephone conversation with the Kremlin head took place in December 2022, but before that they communicated much more often.
Also, German Chancellor mentioned, as in February 2022, before the start of a full -scale war, he visited Moscow for a personal meeting with Vladimir Putin. There they sat at a long table and discussed important issues.
"A few days before the war, we talked in Moscow for a very long time. Remember the long table that I had to sit with him because he was concerned about the crownavirus? We discussed it for more than four hours," Olaf Soltz said.
Separately, the German politician expressed the opinion that the decision to end the war is in the hands of the exclusively President of the Russian Federation. To do this, he needs to give his troops to leave the Ukrainian territory.
"Let me very clearly say one thing: peace is possible at any time. Putin just has to stop his barbaric campaign and remove his troops," Olaf Solt summed up.
We will remind, in the same interview, Olaf Scholtz stated that Germany will not hand over the Taurus and military missiles to Ukraine because it does not want to allow war between Russia and NATO. According to him, he, as a head of the government, takes responsibility for security issues throughout Europe. At the same time, Olaf Soltz assured that the assistance of Kiev should last.
