The polls look dire for Biden. He continues to insist otherwise.

"You're reading the wrong polls," Biden told reporters on Sunday.

In just over a month, Biden has already rejected polls showing him trailing Trump three times.

President Joe Biden's approval ratings have been slipping in recent months, often showing him tied with or a few points behind former President Donald Trump. But, according to Biden, the media is simply focusing on the wrong polls.

Three times in just over a month, Biden dismissed polls that showed him trailing Trump or other potential GOP rivals and insisted reporters were not getting the full picture.

Leaving his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday, Biden responded to a reporter's call about why he was losing to Trump in the polls.

"You're reading the wrong polls," Biden said. As the president walked from the building to his car, the car crashed into a parked US Secret Service SUV that was blocking the intersection as he left. Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were unharmed.

It's unclear which polls Biden was referring to, but his campaign sent out a media memo last month citing polls showing Biden leading or tied with Trump from NPR/PBS/Marist, Yahoo News/YouGov, USA/Suffolk and Quinnipiac University , among others.

There are more than two polls, Biden says
During a fundraiser in Chicago on Nov. 9, Biden told donors that while "the press has been talking about two polls ... there are 10 more polls that we're winning," according to the pool's report.

Biden said his campaign placed copies of those polls in the seats of attendees.

According to Biden, reporters "don't read the polls"
Earlier in the day, Biden told reporters at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland that reporters "don't read the polls."

"Ten polls. In eight of them, I beat him in those states. Eight of them. You guys only read two, CNN and the New York Times," Biden said.

CNN and New York Times polls released days before Biden's November announcement showed Biden trailing Trump and other Republican candidates nationally by four and five points, respectively.
