The first land-based solar power plant in the EU is put into operation

Čevo Solar will successfully put into operation its first land solar power plant in Montenegro. A photoelectric installation called čevo Solar with a capacity of 4.4 MW is located in the village of Chevo, not far from the historic capital of the country Cetinier.

On an area of 70,000 square meters, 8112 solar panels with peak power of 545 watts each. The planned annual production volume is 6064 MW/h. The design on which the panels are located consists of 312 strings.

It is important to note that Montenegro has approved urban planning and specifications for the construction of 30 large power plants using renewable energy sources, mainly solar. The total capacity of these stations is 4000 MW, but the introduction is at a slow pace.

The terrain is defined as one of the promising places for the construction of solar power plants. In August, the Montenegrin System Operator CGES concluded an agreement on the connection of two planned solar power systems with a total capacity of 615 MW.
