Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced his intention to offer the country's parliament to recognize the Palestinian state during the Human Rights Conference held in Bilbao.
"I will suggest Spain recognize the Palestinian state. I do it from moral beliefs, for the sake of justice, and because it is the only way that two states, Israel and Palestine, can live together in peace," Sanchez said.
Spain's Prime Minister compared its position on Gaza's conflict with the support of Ukraine after Russian aggression.
Sanchez emphasized that Spain demands "respect for international law from Russia and Israel, termination of violence, recognition of two states and providing humanitarian aid in gas."
The idea of creating a Palestinian state is also supported by Britain, the United States and other Western countries to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects this prospect, even after the last war with Hamas group.
Earlier, the head of the British Foreign Ministry expressed the possibility of official recognition of the Palestinian state after ceasefire in gas, without waiting for the results of negotiations between Israel and Palestinians.
At the same time, British Prime Minister Risha Snak assured that London's position on the recognition of Palestinian independence remains unchanged.
