The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine appointed Arsen Zhumadilov to the post of director of the defense agency. One of the key tasks of the new manager will be to reform the defense procurement system to make it effective, predicted and stable.
The Defense Ministry emphasizes that the main purpose of the agency is not just to conclude contracts, but to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons in the required volumes and within a specified time.
Arsen Zhumadilov himself in his comment noted that the expectations from the agency are very high, and reforms in the field of defense procurement have long been on time. He stressed that it is impossible to delay their implementation, since the efficiency of supply depends on the combat capability of the Ukrainian army.
Prior to the appointment to the Defense Procurement Agency, Zhumadilov headed the state operator. After his transition, the acting director of the company Andriy Sozansky will become the acting manager DOT.
According to DOT representatives, the corresponding decision was agreed by the Supervisory Board.
Defense procurement reform is one of the main components of the modernization of the Ukrainian army. It envisages the fight against bureaucracy, the introduction of transparent mechanisms for the supply and attraction of international suppliers.
