US Vice President Ji Di Vation said Ukraine will not be able to overcome Russia in the war if the fighting lasts for several more years. He said this on April 28, commenting on the situation for the Clash Report.
According to Vens, to expect that a protracted war will lead to the collapse of Russia or the full return of its territories by Ukraine is an illusion. He stressed that the current reality is completely different.
"I think that many media outlets have a strange idea that if it lasts a few more years, then the Russians will collapse, Ukrainians will return their territory, and everything will return to what was before the war. But this is not the reality in which we live," he said.
Vance also warned that prolonged war can lead to catastrophic consequences for both countries, including demographic crisis and the risk of nuclear escalation.
"If this lasts a few more years, millions of people may die, and it can develop into a nuclear war. It should stop," he said.
According to Vice President, the policy of Trump administration is aimed at ending the war. Vance assured that the US President forces all his employees to work to achieve this goal.
"Negotiations around the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in the midst. Sometimes it is necessary to exert pressure, sometimes to be more friendly, sometimes promise awards, and sometimes promise punishment, as it is a dirty routine work, but it is a work for which the American people have chosen Trump's administration."
