A ceasefire in Gaza will begin on January 19

On Sunday, January 19, a cease-fire regime will begin in the Gaza Strip, as well as the process of releasing hostages. This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Majed al-Ansari, on the X platform (formerly Twitter), UNN reports.

A ceasefire brokered by Qatar will begin at 8:30 a.m. local time. In the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, it is emphasized that the parties to the conflict and international mediators have agreed on all the details for the beginning of the truce.

"We advise residents to be cautious, exercise maximum caution and wait for further guidance from official sources," Al-Ansari stressed.

The agreement also provides for the beginning of the process of releasing the hostages. This item became one of the key elements of the negotiations, which lasted several weeks with the active participation of mediators.
