The Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office began an investigation into the terrible act of Russian invaders who shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war near the robot, Zaporizhzhya region. The incident occurred during a fighting between the Russian army and the defense forces of Ukraine in December 2023.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, criminal proceedings were initiated on violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The prosecutor's office stressed that it was a gross violation of international humanitarian law on the treatment of prisoners of war.
The corresponding video that recorded this horrible act was widespread on the Internet. The video shows how Russian servicemen shoot Ukrainian defenders who were in their captivity, violating all international norms and conventions.
Other cases of use of Ukrainian prisoners of war as a "live shield" on lines of collision have also been recorded over the last month. Russian invaders commit war crimes that are subject to pre -trial investigation.
OGP stressed that this is only one of the many cases of severe violation of human rights and international humanitarian law by Russia, which continues its aggression against Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities urge the international community to condemn these actions and ensure responsibility for the crimes committed.
