The Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation Andrey Klimov made a sensational statement that Russia is ready to support the power of the "Georgian Dream" in the event that Tbilisi appeals to Moscow with a request for help.
Klimov recalled the example of Syria, where after the address of President Bashar al -Assad to Moscow, Russia provided military assistance, which, according to the Russian official, stabilized the situation in the country. According to him, any attempt by the coup is an interference with external forces in the internal affairs of the state, which is contrary to the UN Charter.
He also noted that if Georgia seeks help to Russia, the Kremlin will be ready to act in the same way as in the case of Syria. Klimov did not specify the specific details of Russia's possible actions, but emphasized that Moscow had already demonstrated its willingness to interfere in situations that were considered critical to preserve the power of their allies.
These statements came against the backdrop of increasing anti -Russian sentiment in Georgia. The results of the surveys indicate that most Georgia citizens consider Russia their main enemy. This figure has increased compared to previous years, which indicates an increase in tension in relations between the two countries.
