Russia creates conditions for blows by amounts but capture is unlikely

Russian troops continue active offensive actions in the Sumy region, trying to approach the regional center at the distance of strokes with artillery. At the same time, analysts believe that the capture of the city of Sumy is unlikely.

This is stated in the report of the American Institute for War Study (ISW), published on June 2. According to analysts, the Russian forces are moving in three directions of the region - in particular, the movement north of the village of Andreevka and northeast of Yablunivka was recorded.

Russian military bloggers declare the seizure of settlements Oleksiivka, Novomikhailivka and Kindrativka, as well as the promotion to the northern part of Andreevka and west Yablunovka and Konstantinovka.

The ISW report also emphasizes that Moscow continues to prepare the soil information to legitimize a possible new stage of offensive. Earlier, Russian officials called for the creation of the so -called "buffer zone" in the north of Sumy region.

According to experts, the forces of the Russian Federation try to move to the Khotyn - Khrapovshchyna line - about 12-15 km from Sumy. This would allow the use of barrel artillery to shocks in the city, as well as to activate attacks with drones.

However, analysts emphasize that even under such conditions Russia is unlikely to be able to capture the regional center itself. The forces of Ukraine's defense are preparing for the long -term defense of the region, and the political price of the offensive on a large Ukrainian city will be too high for the Kremlin.
