The Russian military continues to attack the energy system of our country. However, Oleksandr Kubrakov pointed to the new purpose of the invaders, which was discussed on the round table during the Munich Conference on the Safety of Ukraine. Viceremier on restoration - Minister of Community, Territories and Infrastructure Development Alexander Kubrakov noted that Russia has a new character.
"The recent attacks on our energy sector indicate that the Russians have moved to another strategy. If last year, their goal was to freeze millions of Ukrainians in the winter, this time their efforts are aimed at the economic weakening of our country. They are trying to disable key industrial regions."
According to him, this new goal of Russian attacks on our country's energy infrastructure requires strengthening of safety measures. However, he also noted that Ukraine, together with international partners, has done considerable work to increase the stability of the energy system. This includes the supply of vehicles, electric generators, the construction of protective structures, imports of electricity and the supply of air defense systems.
"Despite all these problems and attacks, we have become stronger this winter," Viceremier emphasized.
However, according to Kubrakov, protection of energy infrastructure is a constant task, as the threat continues to remain relevant. Therefore, he called for further measures to improve the safety and work on the restoration of the energy sector.
The last massive attack took place on the night of February 15, when Russian troops released missiles in different regions of Ukraine. A large part of these missiles were destroyed by the United Air Force and Defense Forces.
