The head of the People's Republic, Xi Jinping, goes to the European Union in order to strengthen economic ties and build a partnership, which has the potential to displace American influence. About it reports Bloomberg.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing, the Chinese leader will start a five -day trip to France, Serbia and Hungary on May 5.
"These countries seek investments from China, despite many EU investigations into industrial imports from China and warning officials in Washington about the risks of cooperation with Beijing," the publication reads.
Bloomberg writes that the trip of Xi Jinping will take place against the background of how the EU gradually approaches Washington in restoring cheap imports from China.
"I think that Si Jinping's trip is an attempt to convince Europeans that there are better options and that the best relationships are possible," said Si Jinpin Duncan Fryman, teacher of Chinese-European relations at Brusselscasselian Management in Belgium.
