Among the guests of the party were Russian actors Yuri Borisov and Mark Eidelstein, which caused a wave of indignation among social networks. The main reason for criticism was that Hollywood, despite Russia's war against Ukraine, continues to cooperate with Russian artists and actually ignores their involvement in the aggressor country.
Particularly outrageous for Ukrainians was the choice of musical accompaniment-Tatu songs, which in the early 2000s became a world hit, but is now associated with Russian culture.
Yuri Borisov, who was nominated for an Oscar in the category "Best Actor of the Support", did not win the award - Kiran Kalkin won. At the same time, Borisov was introduced to the Peacemaker base for illegal visit to the annexed Crimea and participation in Russian propaganda.
The scandal over the party once again raised Hollywood tolerance to Russian cultural figures, despite their connection with the Kremlin's policy.
