In Germany, an internal struggle in the ranks of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) is unfolding, in particular, as a matter of who should become a candidate for the future elections. Hubertus Gael, the deputy chairman of the party, sharply criticized these party strife, saying that they only confuse voters and harm the image of the party.
In his statement, which is cited by DPA, Gayl stressed that internal conflicts are inadmissible in conditions where the party is responsible for managing the country. According to Gael, it is important not to focus on the fight for positions, but to work to ensure that the party solves important issues that concern citizens. He noted that party strife make confusion among voters, which is an irresponsible approach. At the center of this conflict is the current Chancellor of Germany Olaf Soltz, who recently declared his desire to re -act as a candidate for the post of Chancellor from the SPD in early elections, which should take place in February. However, more and more party members are opposed by Scholz to head the campaign again. Among the possible candidates began to discuss the Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who is considered a promising candidate.
However, soon Pistorius, refuting the rumors, said he would not compete for the post of chancellor from the Social Democratic Party. This further complicated the situation, as the party was in a state of uncertainty about its candidate, which may have a negative impact on its support among voters.
The importance of unity within the party remains extremely urgent, especially in the context of political instability and economic challenges that Germany faces. Internal disputes only undermine the trust in the Social Democrats, and perhaps this will be the main issue in the nearest political race.
