US considers the possibility of providing Ukraine with Patriot systems

Ukraine needs an additional 10-12 Patriot systems to provide a country of life and make war for Putin meaningless. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with US head Donald Trump on March 19. Zelensky's appeal to Washington was an next step in trying to strengthen the Ukraine air defense system.

According to the White House spokeswoman, Caroline Levitt, President Zelensky directly urged the US leader to consider providing additional air defense systems to protect civilian population from Russian shelling.

"President Zelensky has asked to provide additional air defense systems to protect civilians, including Patriot missile systems. At the same time, President Trump agreed to work to find what is available, in particular in Europe," the spokeswoman said.

This conversation took place against the background of the continuing Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities, which cause significant damage to civilian infrastructure and threaten the lives of civilians. The presence of additional Patriot systems can significantly strengthen Ukraine's ability to protect itself from air attacks.

It remains unclear whether Washington will be able to quickly provide these systems. However, President Trump's willingness to consider this issue indicates that Ukraine's support is continuing.
