This step, according to the Presidential Administration, is aimed at protecting citizens from illegal migration. At the same time, Trump instructed the deportation of those who are already in the United States illegally.
In addition, the new decree limits the access of migrants to the ability to apply for asylum or stay in the country.
On the same day, CNN reported that thousands of additional servicemen were sent to the US border with Mexico.
