The Serbia Parliament has officially confirmed the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vuchevich after his request to leave his position against the background of large-scale student protests. The reason for the protest stocks was the roof of the station in the new-garden, which caused a wave of indignation among the public due to the negligence of the authorities and neglect of security issues.
After the resignation, the government goes into technical status. According to the law, Serbia begins 30 days, during which a new government should be formed. If this does not happen, the country will be prepared for the parliamentary elections.
The Cabinet of Ministers, headed by Milos Vucevich, was elected recently - May 2, 2024. However, the inability of the government to respond promptly to emergencies and to take into account the demands of protesters has led to its premature dissolution.
Serbia is currently expected to have a busy period of political negotiations as leading parties should try to find a compromise and create a new government that will be able to stabilize the situation and restore citizens' confidence.
