Judicial summons and warrants, which have been sent to the Telegram messenger to the messenger, have been accumulated on the e -mail of a company that was rarely checked for several years. About it reports The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) with reference to a source close to the founder of the platform Pavel Durov.
According to the source, Telegram actually ignored court appeals that came from the state bodies. This caused serious dissatisfaction with the authorities, in particular, French, which accused Durov of refusing to cooperate with the investigation into Telegram. The prosecutor of Paris Lor Beccou stated "almost complete absence of reaction" by the messenger for court requirements.
The situation was complicated by the fact that serious accusations were made against Paul Durov, including complicity in the spread of child pornography, drug sale and fraud in the organized group. These accusations have strengthened the pressure on the founder of the Telegram and its platform, which has long been anxiety among different governments because of the complexity of monitoring and regulating its use.
Pavel Durova was detained on the evening of August 24 at the Paris Airport of Le-Burge. On August 28, the court decided to supervise the founder of the Telegram, forbidding him to leave the territory of France, as well as obligation to make a pledge of € 5 million and twice a week to appear in a police station.
