Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has expressed that the situation on the Ukrainian Front is currently critical. He emphasized the importance of strengthening Kyiv defensive assistance from partner countries, especially in counteracting rocket and drone terror by Russia.
After the informal summit of the European Council, Tusk expressed the opinion that the fate of the Russian-Ukrainian war could decide in the coming weeks. He noted that the summit discussed the issue of security, which is especially important from a Polish point of view.
The Prime Minister noted that Germany provided Ukraine with an additional set of Patriot batteries and urged other countries to do the same. However, Poland, as a "frontier state", does not have enough Patriot systems to transfer them to Kiev.
On the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that the G7 Foreign Ministry Heads are working on the decision to transfer additional air defense batteries to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz said Berlin had found at least 6 Patriot systems that can be transmitted to the Ukrainian side.
