Germany has a new leader for the post of chancellor

In Germany, support for Boris Pistorius as a candidate for the post of federal chancellor is growing. The results of the latest survey conducted by the Forsa Institute indicate a significant decline in the popularity of the current Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, even among supporters of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Only 13% of those polled are ready to support Scholz, while Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is supported by a large part of voters - 57%.

Pistorius is not only ahead of the current chancellor, but also shows better results compared to the head of the Christian Democratic Union, Friedrich Mertz. In the event of a contest between them, 39% of the voters would support Pistorius, while Mertz would get only 25%.

It is impressive that even among the conservative CDU electorate, Pistorius has 22% support. According to analysts, this trend reflects not only the popularity of Pistorius among the left wing of voters, but also his influence on supporters of the conservative camp, which opens up a wider electoral horizon for him.
