The Ukrainian Parliament will begin amendments to the bill on mobilization of this week, taking into account the comments of the Ombudsman. Changes to the project will be made approximately, after the evaluation of the comments, and will prepare a more compromise variant of the law.
This was reported by Yevgeny Kravchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy. She also noted that the original bill in its current form will not be made to the vote because of its shortcomings.
Kravchuk emphasized the need to create a fairer and clear law to avoid corruption norms and take into account the Ombudsman's remarks. The Interagency Working Group will start working on the updated version of the bill this week.
The mobilization bill in Ukraine was submitted in December 2023 and provides for restrictions for evasion, in particular, a ban on disposing of its property and purchasing new movable and real estate. However, these restrictions were caused by disputes and indignation, including Ombudsman Dmitry Lubin. According to Eugene Kravchuk, it is planned to create a compromise that would take into account the interests of citizens and does not violate the constitutional principles.
