It is a traditional dish that should be in every house for Christmas.
Christmas is one of the main Christian holidays that is traditionally celebrated in a family. Traditionally, in the evening, there should be 12 dishes on the table, one of which is a kutia. Today we share with you a classic option for cooking this dish - with honey and dried fruits.
Ingredients:
- wheat - 150 g
- poppy - 150 g
- raisins - 100 g
- Walnuts - 150 g
- cherry dried - 100 g
- dried apricots - 100 g
- honey is 150 g
Preparation:
Step 1
Wheat should be taken with a special purified, light color and large grains. Before cooking it should be well washed and filled with water for a few hours (preferably overnight), it will swell a little and will become softer.
Drain this water and rinse your wheat several times in running water.
Step 2
Transfer the wheat to a saucepan, fill with water and set on fire. Cook over low heat for about 1 hour and do not forget to stir. If the water boils, pour a little. Your goal is soft grains, but to keep their shape. It is also important that the boiled wheat has very little liquid so that your corner is not dry.
Step 3
Now it's time to cook poppy. Of course, you can rub it in a mortar, but it is easier to do it with a blender or coffee grinder. After the poppy is crushed, transfer it to a saucepan, fill it with water so that it coat it a little and cook over low heat until the water boils. Allow the poppy to cool completely.
Step 4
Now the turn of dried fruits and nuts. Grind the nuts a little, put them in a bag and beat with a hammer to reflect the meat or rolling pin. If walnuts are soft - you can cut them with a knife.
The dried fruits should be filled with boiling water for a few minutes. Then drain this water and wash in flow.
Step 5
Add poppy seeds, nuts, dried fruits and honey to the finished porridge. Determine the amount of honey to taste. Mix everything thoroughly.
