Ukrainian farmers will receive new grant from the World Bank worth over UAH 390 million . This is the second financial assistance tranche in 2025 , aimed at supporting the agricultural sector of Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval. According to him , these funds will help Ukrainian farmers to continue the development and improvement agriculture .
According to the report, the first tranche worth over UAH 386 million has already received 7,766 farms and agricultural producers . The new grant will be distributed for further support of farmers, in particular: UAH 56.5 million will be aimed at granting for cows . UAH 2.5 million will receive sheep and goats . The bulk of the funds will be used to pay subsidies in the amount of 4 thousand hryvnias for each hectare of agricultural land that is processed. This will allow to cover most of the farmers' costs for land cultivation and keep animals, which is a major component of agricultural production in Ukraine.
This grant is part of the program of continuation of state support for agrarians for 2025 . The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to continue financing the program for small farms , which cultivate up to 120 hectares of land or hold up to 100 cows , 500 sheep or goats. This program will allow more farmers to receive financial assistance in the new year. For farmers who not yet used grant support in 2024 , there is an opportunity to apply for assistance in 2025 . As part of this program, agricultural producers will be able to receive subsidies both for the maintenance of cattle and for the cultivation of agricultural land.
This grant is an important step towards supporting Ukrainian farmers who work in difficult conditions of war and economic instability. Improvement of the agricultural sector that helps to preserve production on the ground is a key factor in ensuring food security .
