Ukrzaliznytsia purchased rails from Minerfin-trans at a record price

Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the purchase of rails from Minerin-Trans at a record high price of 16.8 million euros. The tender, which took place on December 19, had no competitor, and Minerin-Trans was the choice for delivery.

According to Prozzoro, in February 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia already ordered rails from AS Skinest Rail (Estonia) for $ 15.9 million, acquiring material with similar characteristics and quantities.

This new agreement is built in the context of preliminary relations between Minerin-Trans and Rostislav Shurma, the deputy chairman of the Presidential Office, who previously worked in Zaporizhstal. During his work in Zaporizhstal, Shurma called "Minerin-Trans" his partners.

Minerfin owns 48% of the Czech company Moravia Steel, which is a railway producer. The shareholders of Minerfin are entrepreneurs from Slovakia - Tomasz Hrenk, Euzhen Balko, Blue Maria and Jan Moder.

This agreement raises certain issues, especially due to a record high price and lack of competition on the tender.
