Ukraine has defined further steps to achieve a just and sustainable peace in the war with Russia. First of all, the large -scale exchange of prisoners and preparation for the next stage of diplomatic negotiations. This was stated by Presidential Office Andriy Ermak in his Telegram channel on Thursday, May 22.
In particular, Yermak stressed that the first important step should be an agreement on the exchange of prisoners in the format "1000 per 1000". According to him, this will become a strong humanitarian gesture and will testify to the parties to move to further arrangements.
The second step, according to Yermak, should be to determine the place for the next meeting with representatives of the Russian Federation.
OP said this during online conversation with diplomatic representatives of the leaders of North Europe and the Baltic States. He told the participants about the latest foreign policy events with the participation of Ukraine - negotiations in Istanbul, the visits of President Vladimir Zelensky to Italy and the Vatican, as well as his conversation with US President Donald Trump and leaders of the EU countries.
Particular attention, according to Ermak, during the dialogue was given the need to increase sanction pressure on Russia. He stressed that Ukraine continues to coordinate its actions with partners to maintain maximum political and economic pressure on the aggressor country.
