Witcoff told about plans to reach a 30-day ceasefire

Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witcoff said that the ultimate goal of the current stage of negotiations between the US, Ukraine and Russia is to reach a temporary cease ceasefire for a period of 30 days. During this period, the parties should discuss the possibility of complete termination of hostilities. He reported this on Friday, March 21, in an interview with Tair Carlson.

According to Witcoff, the United States is working on a temporary ceasefire that will be the basis for further peace talks. "The ultimate goal is the 30-day ceasefire, during which we will discuss the constant ceasefire. We are already not far from it, but the 30-day ceasefire is where we need to find out what all the conditions are on the battlefield," he said.

He also emphasized that there is a line of demarcation between Ukraine and Russia about 2000 kilometers, where 70 to 90 battles take place daily. "The conditions of their termination must be discussed," Vitcoff added.

The specialist expressed optimism about the US ability to reach a compromise between the two sides. "We have narrowed the circle of questions so much. So I'm an optimist," he summed up.

Recall that the closest meeting between Ukrainian and American delegations will take place in Saudi Arabia, where the parameters of proposals for different ceasefire modes should be determined.
