In 2025, new traffic rules or changes in the penal system were not introduced in Ukraine. However, drivers are again reminiscent of compliance with the current DA requirements, as speed violations are one of the most common road problems. In this regard, it is important to be aware of topical penalties and punishments for violations.
According to the current legislation, the driver must pay a fine of UAH 340 for speeding for 20-50 km/h. However, if the violation exceeds the limit by more than 50 km/h, a fine may reach 1700 UAH - a fivefold increase in the basic fine. This approach is aimed at reducing the number of violations and ensuring road safety.
Since May 1, 2025, Ukraine has come into force in terms of changes in speed, which leads to an emergency or accident. In such cases, another UAH 1445 will be added to the main fine. This means that drivers who will allow speed can not only receive a basic fine, but also suffer additional financial costs in the event of an emergency.
Despite the fact that in 2025 there were no significant changes to the legislation, law enforcement officers emphasize that compliance with traffic rules is not only a matter of fines but also a issue of security. It is important to remember that speeding can lead not only to financial losses, but also to the danger to the life and health of all road users.
