The war in Ukraine has been going on for the third year, but even under the conditions of hostilities, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and his wife Olena did not take their children abroad. In a recent interview for Spanish television, the first lady said that the family remains in the homeland, despite the difficult conditions.
Olena Zelenska emphasized that she could not disclose details due to security considerations, but confirmed that their children — 20-year-old daughter Oleksandra and 11-year-old son Kyrylo — are in Ukraine all the time. Earlier, Olena Zelenska shared that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the family has been living separately from Volodymyr Zelensky. This decision was made to increase the safety of children, as the President remains at the forefront of the fight for the state.
Oleksandra, the eldest daughter of the couple, is already an adult, but remains in her native country, despite the risks. The younger son Kyrylo, as before, goes to school, adapting to living conditions during the war.
The decision not to take the children abroad emphasizes the dedication of the Zelenskyi family to their country and demonstrates an example of the indomitability of the Ukrainian people.
