The Vice President of the Centeric European People's Party (ENP), Siegfried Murechan, warned the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez that the country could cause the loss of funding from the European Union through the adopted controversial law on the amnesty of Catalan separatists.
ENP Manfred Weber leader and President of the Spanish People's Party Alberto Nunes Faihoo participated in the ENP Conference in Barcelona on Monday.
Muretsan stressed that Spain risks losing European funds due to the "violation of the rule of law" in connection with the law on amnesty, which is considered an unconstitutional People's Party and the far -right VOX party, which is the third largest force in parliament.
"European finances can come to Spain only if the rule of law is observed. Amnesty law is an open violation of European norms and values. We have come to protect the rule of law," Musoshan stressed.
"We are amazed at the violation of the rule of law. We stand with the Spaniards. We do not plan to remain silent," he added.
According to Muretsan, "Spain needs a prime minister who is trusting Europe, Spanish citizens and companies. It needs a government leader that solves problems rather than generates them."
The ENP conference was also attended by Madrida Jose Martinez Almeida Mayor and Foreign Minister Antonio Tayani.
