In Gdansk Gulf Polish Coast Guard found a large cargo of cocaine, the cost of which is estimated at the "black market" of 60 million zlotys (approximately $ 15 million). About it reports RMF24.
Border guards noticed several civilian boats whose behavior seemed suspicious during patrols aimed at protecting underwater infrastructure. This was the reason for the further investigation, during which about 100 kg of drugs were removed.
Simoh suspects - six men and a woman aged 36 to 50 were detained in the case. They are all inhabitants of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. According to the investigation, the group organized the transportation of cocaine from countries in southern Africa and planned its sale in Poland.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with international partners for Europol coordination. Currently, four key suspects have been arrested for three months. They are charged with participation in an organized criminal group and drug smuggling, which can be threatened with a punishment of up to 20 years in prison.
