Zelenskyi and Austin discussed the situation in Donbas and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin during a meeting of the Ramstein Defense Group on Defense of Ukraine, which took place in Germany.

The main topic of the discussion was the situation on the battlefield, in particular in the Pokrovsky direction, as well as the course of Kursk operation. The President and the Minister noted the decisive role of drones in the current phase of war. Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's needs for drones of different types, which are key to successful combat missions.

"The strong positions of Ukraine on the battlefield are important for approaching just and long peace," Zelensky said.

The parties also discussed the implementation of the NATO Washington Summit, in particular in the area of ​​Ukraine's aging defense. Attention was paid to the prospects of providing additional air defense systems that need joint efforts with other partners.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the further activity of the Ramstein coalition and the launch of NATO's Initiative "Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine" (NSATU). This will help strengthen the Ukrainian army and enhance its ability to resist the aggressor.
