President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky voiced the total cost of defense forces for 2024, which amounted to about $ 100 billion. The head of state emphasized the importance of unity between allies of Ukraine - the US and Europe - in support of a country that continues to resist Russian aggression.
Total defense costs were distributed as follows:
- Ukraine provided $ 40 billion
- The United States of America provided $ 35 billion
- $ 25 billion came from European partners.
The President emphasized that these funds ensure the functioning of defense forces, including military equipment, weapons, ammunition and other critical resources.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine makes a significant contribution to global security, protecting democratic values and restraining Russian aggression. He noted that the support of the Allies is important, but Ukraine's contribution is equally significant.
"The highest contribution is our people," the President said, emphasizing the price that Ukrainians pay in the war, including the lives of defenders.
