President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a new format of international cooperation - "Industrial Ramstein", designed to combine the efforts of foreign partners to restore key industrial sites destroyed as a result of Russian shelling. The head of state gave the relevant assignment during a meeting with representatives of the business of the Odessa region on April 15.
According to the President's office, the format of the meeting should unite states that are ready to help in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian industry, in particular the enterprises of the defense and critically important civilian sector. The proposal reflects a new stage in the strategic partnership of Ukraine with the international community: the emphasis is not only dismissed and technical assistance, but also for systematic restoration of economic infrastructure.
In the course of talking with the business of Odesa region, the President emphasized the need for urgent restoration of production capacity, since the attacks of the Russian Federation on the objects of critical infrastructure are not stopped. Industry, logistics and energy remain the main targets of hostile blows. That is why Ukraine needs not only financial support, but also technological, logistics and personnel assistance to start damaged enterprises.
In addition to the topic of industrial recovery, other topical issues were discussed during the meeting. In particular, the security situation in the region, the protection of the sea corridor, the continuation of exports of Ukrainian grain, as well as business access to lending and development of investment attractiveness. Particular attention was paid to the continuation of the program "Made in Ukraine", which aims to support domestic production and the creation of new jobs.
The idea of "Industrial Ramstein" logically complements the initiative of the military format, which has been successfully coordinating international assistance to Ukraine in the defense sphere for several years. A similar platform, but with an emphasis on the industry, can be an important support for the restoration of the economy in wartime and after victory.
According to analysts, this format will not only accumulate funds for restoration, but also create a transparent mechanism of participation of partners in the modernization of the Ukrainian industry. It also signals international business: Ukraine plans not only to recover, but to rethink its own economic model, based on innovation, local production and technological independence.
