Changes for drivers because of new rules for pedestrians

In Ukraine, law enforcement officers began to more strictly monitor the observance of traffic rules, in particular in the part of pedestrian crossings. Drivers who do not prefer pedestrians can get serious penalties or even lose their rights.

According to traffic rules, drivers should take all steps to ensure pedestrian safety, approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing. Important points are to reduce speed and stop if necessary to avoid danger to pedestrians.

Particular attention should be paid to paragraph 18.4 of the Rules, according to which if one car reduces speed or stops before the pedestrian crossing, other drivers should also reduce speed or stop so as not to create a danger to pedestrians.

In case of violation of these rules, the driver may be fined. The fine can be from 340 to 850 UAH, depending on the severity of the violation. In the event of a real threat of an accident or accident, the driver may be deprived of the rights of 6 to 12 months.

These changes should remind the drivers of the importance of observing the rules at pedestrian crossings so as not to cause accidents and to be in danger of pedestrians.
