The Armed Forces are expanding the basic training program

From November 1, the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine switched to the updated program of basic combined military training, which will last 1.5 months instead of 30 days. This decision was made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of the results obtained as part of the pilot project, Major General Ihor Palahnyuk, Head of the Main Department of Doctrine and Training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported.

According to him, the purpose of increasing the training period is to strengthen the protection of the lives of servicemen by improving their skills. The new program provides for an expansion of fire training by 33 hours, and the number of exercises has increased from 23 to 45. It has also added more classes in first aid, tactical training, anti-unmanned aerial vehicle operations and electronic warfare.

These changes were a response to the request of military units performing front-line tasks. General Palahniuk emphasized that the new program will also include classes on military topography, modern war technology, collective use of weapons and other disciplines aimed at comprehensive improvement of the combat skills of Ukrainian defenders.
