European allies of Ukraine are shocked by the results of the Presidents of Vladimir Zelensky and Donald Trump in the oval office. According to one of the European officials, the conversation became an "ambush" for the Ukrainian leader, and he described the situation as a "catastrophe".
"Europe will collectively try to collect pieces, but it seems that Trump has decided to sell Ukraine," the Reuters quotes one of the EU high -ranking officials.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of fears of European allies of Kiev, which for weeks tried to refuse Trump from the rapid conclusion of a peace agreement under the terms of Moscow. They are now forced to consider two options: either to take more responsibility for Ukraine's military support, or compromise with Trump, which can have serious political consequences for President Zelensky.
