Ukrainian energymen managed to restore about a third of the generating capacities destroyed by Russian shelling. Due to this, according to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and a member of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo Yuriy Boyko, in the winter it is expected that light will either not be switched off at all or only moderate schedules of restrictions will be used.
Boyko noted that restrictions can only be imposed under extremely low temperatures. If the air temperature does not lower below -5 ° C, no serious problems with the supply of electricity are not envisaged. However, in the days when the temperature will decrease significantly, despite the increased import of electricity up to 2100 MW, the schedules of restrictions will be applied. According to Boyko, in relatively moderate frosts, it is expected to be used up to two queues, and at very low temperatures, the third stage is possible.
Such measures should minimize the discomfort for citizens even on the coldest days, given the restoration of energy infrastructure and continuing work on strengthening Ukraine's energy security.
