Alexander Kardakov: Ukraine is developing its own version of the "Iron Dome" to protect against missile attacks

The author of MilTech-developments Alexander Kardakov spoke about the concept of the Ukrainian version of the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system and its potential effectiveness in an interview for the TSN.ua website.

He emphasized that the whole of Ukraine is currently working on this task, because there is no single solution, as in the case of Israel, and ideally every city and critical infrastructure facility in Ukraine should be equipped with its own air defense systems. However, in reality the situation is somewhat different.

Kardakov said that Ukraine does not have time to wait for the full implementation of such an ideal system. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps to ensure immediate protection. This includes improving the detection of the enemy, deploying a network of acoustic sensors throughout the country, increasing mobile anti-missile brigades and providing them with data obtained from the acoustic network. It is also necessary to integrate data from this acoustic network into existing air defense systems. As a result, the effectiveness of the Ukrainian "non-iron" system "Iron Dome" will reach maximum indicators, even with an increase in the number of missile attacks. This will contrast with the current level of effectiveness, which is 78.7% of enemy targets hit.

Thus, Ukraine focuses its efforts on improving the system of detection and destruction of enemy missiles, taking into account the realities of the present time and limited resources.
