Syria President Bashar Assad has left the capital of Damascus, the media reported with reference to the representative of the Global Arab Net Net Ibrahim news service. It happened against the backdrop of considerable success of the opposition forces that came to the capital.
According to Ibrahim, Assad decided to leave the country because of the threat of Damascus's environment and reducing support from Russia. Now the Syrian president is in Tehran, where he negotiates with the supreme religious leader of Iran Ali Hamenei.
The situation for government forces is complicated by the rapid success of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS), which this week has taken control of key cities in the east of the country. The last loss of the regime was the strategic city of Deir Ez-Zor. This is the third big city, which is lost by Assad in the last seven days.
Assad evacuation occurs in conditions of increasing instability in Syria, which can lead to a change in the country's political course. The lack of open support from Russia, which has previously played a key role in maintaining the regime, indicates the possible isolation of the Syrian President in the international arena.
